A virtual swar mandal that follows your raag
SurSadhak's swar mandal is a plucked-harp accompaniment that automatically strums the notes of whichever raag you've selected — ascending left to right, then descending right to left, with a natural pause at the top so notes ring and blend.
How it works
- Extracts the unique scale notes from the raag's aroha and avroh, one octave.
- Ascending notes pan left → right; descending notes pan right → left, simulating a physical harp.
- Up to 24 simultaneous voices, so notes ring and blend naturally rather than cutting off.
- Repeats at a configurable interval, and stays in sync with the tanpura, tabla and harmonium.
Raag selection is shared: pick a raag in the Raag tab and the SwarMandal, harmonium and other instruments all switch to it together.

What does the SwarMandal do?
It plays a raag's notes as an ascending-then-descending arpeggio with left-right stereo panning, like a plucked harp, for ambient accompaniment while you sing or play.
Do I need to select notes manually?
No — select a raag anywhere in the app and the SwarMandal automatically extracts its scale notes and strums them. The raag is shared across every instrument.
Is the SwarMandal free?
Yes, it's included in the free plan along with the tanpura, harmonium and manjira.
