General
What is SurSadhak?
A practice app for Hindustani classical music: tabla, tanpura and harmonium accompaniment, 100+ raags with guided practice, and a Bhatkhande notation editor — on Android and iOS.
Does SurSadhak work offline?
Yes. Instruments, taals, raags and recording all work without a connection. You only need to be online to share songs or manage your subscription. Read more →
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes — SurSadhak is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.0 or later), and on Google Play for Android.
Can I change the pitch and tempo?
Every instrument follows one scale you choose; the tabla runs from 25 to 300 BPM with fine steps and ÷2 / ×2 jumps.
Instruments and practice
How many taals and raags does SurSadhak have?
~50 taals with 100+ style variations, and 100+ raags — each with tanpura tuning and aroha/avroh/pakad/alaap. Read more →
What does raag-guided highlighting do?
When you're practising a raag, the harmonium keys belonging to that raag light up as its aroha, avroh, pakad and alaap play, so you can follow along note by note. Read more →
What is meend?
A smooth glide between two notes rather than a discrete jump. SurSadhak's harmonium supports meend glides for a more authentic sound. Read more →
Can I use it as a lehra for tabla solo practice?
Yes — run the harmonium with a lehra-style phrase and the taal running, or use the tabla with tanpura only while you play along on a real tabla. Read more →
Is the tanpura a real recording or synthesised?
It's built from real tanpura samples across the four strings, pitch-shifted to your chosen scale rather than a synthesiser tone. Read more →
Free and Premium
Is SurSadhak free?
Yes. Tanpura, harmonium, sur peti, swar mandal, manjira, all 100+ raags, 11 taals, the notation editor and song composition are all free with no time limit. Premium adds the rest of the taals and removes the daily recording limit. Read more →
Which taals are free?
Metronome, Dadra, Rupak, Keherva, Bhajani, Jhaptaal, Soolfaak, Chautaal, Ektaal, Addha/Sitarkhani, TeenTaal. The other taals and their variations are part of Premium. Read more →
How much does Premium cost?
$0.99 a month or $7.99 a year, billed through Google Play or the App Store. Short free trials are offered from time to time. Read more →
How do I cancel Premium?
Cancel any time from your store's subscription settings — Google Play or the App Store — not inside SurSadhak. Deleting your SurSadhak account does not cancel a store subscription. Read more →
I reinstalled the app or got a new phone — where's my Premium?
Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you originally subscribed with. Purchases are tied to your store account, not your device. Read more →
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies, not by SurSadhak directly. Request one through your store's purchase history. Read more →

How do I sign in on the web?
Use the same Google or Apple account you use in the app, from the sign-in button on this site's home page. Read more →
How do I delete my account?
Sign in and choose "Delete my account". Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it does not cancel a store subscription — cancel that separately. Read more →
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
No. Cancel a Premium subscription separately through Google Play or the App Store — deleting your account does not stop billing. Read more →
What if I can't sign in any more?
