The manjira (hand cymbals) is one of eight instruments in SurSadhak's mixer — a simple, steady beat you can layer under devotional singing, alongside or instead of the tabla.
How it works
- Plays a real recorded cymbal stroke, pitch-shifted to match your chosen scale.
- Runs at the same tempo as the rest of your session — tabla, tanpura and harmonium included.
- Mix its volume independently, or mute it entirely, from the mixer panel.
- Included in song composition, so a manjira track can be part of a recording.

What is a manjira?
A pair of small hand cymbals traditionally used to keep steady time in bhajan, kirtan and devotional singing. SurSadhak's manjira plays a real sampled cymbal in time with your chosen tempo.
Does the manjira follow the taal?
Yes — it runs alongside the tabla and stays locked to the same tempo, so it works as a simple, steady time-keeper even without the tabla playing.
